We Hit A Record (Sad Face)

May 7, 2026 By Pam Pulizzi

Why the sad face, you ask?  Records are usually awesome and meant to be broken.

Not this quarter for OEF.

We hit a record number of application funding requests….

Here are the stats:

We had 63 applications received with a total ask of $228,695

Wait – let’s put that into perspective.   Each quarter, the application review committee has $25,000 to work with.  That’s A LOT of money (thanks to our awesome donors).

But when you have over 200k in requests in one quarter, that number seems so small.

Now, truth be told, some of those applications didn’t meet our criteria, but as I type this, the committee is asked to take $71,000 in eligible applications and narrow them down to $30,000 (I was a bit of a softy there to try and help the committee out).

So I thought I would share this video with you. It was created for our Night at the Races event this past November. It reminds me of all the good we do and all the work we have left to do!

Enjoy!
