These words were spoken by Geoffrey Chaucer in the 1300s. Yes, that was a long time ago and I can only wonder how many times they’ve been cited since.
We’re using them today because we’ve made the difficult decision to shut down the foundation at the end of this year. For me personally, helping more than 500 children across the United States over the past 10 years has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my life.
So why not continue, you might ask? Sometimes there simply aren’t words for that. Sometimes you just know it’s right. You realize that the funding is getting more difficult and the applications are becoming harder to decipher. Sometimes things just line up and the writing is on the wall, as they say. (Words originating from the Bible.)
It’s important for you to know that if you have been a donor, we have kept our promise: your dollars have gone directly to helping these children. And as we close out the foundation, we will continue to ensure that every dime goes to the kids.
It’s also important to know that we will make sure that anyone seeking the resources we’ve previously provided is directed to organizations that may be able to help.
An extra thank you to our board members for all of their support, and thank you to you, the reader. It will be fun to see what our next adventure may be together.
