Autism Becomes Magical

July 17, 2025 By Pam Pulizzi

I truly believe that there is too much content out there. I myself can easily get caught up in what I learned is called ‘doomscrolling’ where you just keep swiping as all kinds of information goes on the screen and you don’t even realize how much time has passed.

Years ago this bothered me so much that our family instituted electronic free Saturdays.  But I digress….

Every once in a while you run across a piece of content that makes you really stop and think. The type of thing that reminds you that there is good in the world, or that there are people trying to make the world a better place. Sometimes it is just a really good video that entertains you as well as educates you.

Cillian O’Connor does that for me in this video of his audition on Britain’s Got Talent. Cillian explains that he wants to take us on a journey as he performs his magic. He explains that magic helped him with his Autism by allowing him to communicate with others and build relationships.

Best of all, he truly mystifies Simon (one of the judges who is often very skeptical).

Enjoy for yourself and share the joy in this young man finding his “ABILITY.”
