$30,000 in Grants Awarded to Fund Speech Therapy and Speech Devices for Needy Children Across the United States

CLEVELAND – Sept. 27, 2021 – PRLog — The Orange Effect Foundation strives to empower children and young adults with the tools they need to communicate effectively. Continuing a generous quarterly grant award program that began in 2015, recently the board of The Orange Effect Foundation awarded $30,000 in grants for speech therapy and speech devices.
As part of the rigorous application process, grant applicants are asked to provide documentation and written explanation to confirm their medical and financial need. The Orange Effect Foundation asks applicants to consider the grant program only as a last resort. Grants awarded during this third quarter 2021 reflect just that. Grant recipients include children who lack medical insurance to pay for speech therapy, those whose families have exhausted financial resources funding other severe medical needs, and children whose parents lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In discussing a specific award recipient who is challenged with physical disabilities in addition to severe speech disorders, one board member remarked, “this is why our foundation exists.”
The Orange Effect Foundation reviews each application thoroughly with the goal of assisting as many children as possible given available resources. Applications that are found to be incomplete are not rejected outright but instead, applicants are offered the opportunity to submit the missing information and are considered in the next grant cycle.
The Orange Effect Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, or sexual orientation. Although grants are awarded based on financial need, the foundation does consider extenuating circumstances. In all cases, The Orange Effect Foundation prefers to be the funder of last resort, relying on corporate, community, and individual support to raise funds.

About The Orange Effect Foundation
The foundation, while officially formed in 2014, actually began back in 2001, when the founders’ son was born with autism. Early intervention helped him to become a heartwarming and independent young man. The Pulizzi family wanted to give back by empowering other children with the therapy and tools they need to communicate effectively.
