Recipient Spotlight: Anthony

November 8, 2018 By Maureen Stanton

Anthony is a kind, caring teenager who is challenged by autism and stuttering. Fortunately, he discovered FACETime Summer Camp at the Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center. This special summer speech camp is designed for older children and younger teens who stutter. Camp provides a safe environment where speech skills are practiced in real-life situations at restaurants and other public locations around the city.

However, insurance is not accepted and attending camp would have placed a severe financial strain on Anthony’s family. We’re so glad that his speech-language pathologist suggested they apply for an Orange Effect Foundation grant. Because of the contributions from our wonderful donors and sponsors, Anthony attended FACETime Camp this past summer and received the speech therapy and practice with real-life experiences he needs to help him communicate more effectively.
