Lean In to the Uncomfortable

October 11, 2018 By Maureen Stanton

Katie Hill has a genetic disorder that affects her movement and speech. Before she entered 7th grade this year, a friend made this video to introduce Katie to the hundreds of students at her new middle school. We think this video does a great job of showing how a speech generating device works and how using one can open up the world to a child.

In this video, Katie is using the zuvo 12 Speech-Generating device. We fund speech generating devices like this one and related technology too. If you or someone you know could benefit from an Orange Effect grant, please consider applying. Our next grant deadline is November 15.
