Every Single Amazon Account Holder Should Do This

January 5, 2023 By Pam Pulizzi

Some people argue that there is no such thing as free. Often they have a valid point. Maybe you have to buy one to get one free, or you have the cost of your time and travel to get whatever is free. The person who wants to buy you a coffee (hence free for you) may want something from you.

I have however found the one scenario that is absolutely free. That I can guarantee costs you nothing and yet has amazing benefits.

That is AmazonSmile.

Direct from their website, When you shop using AmazonSmile, you’ll find the same Amazon storefront you know and love, with the added bonus that AmazonSmile will donate a portion of the eligible purchase price to the charity of your choice, at no additional cost.

There are “catches” I suppose. For example, you have to remember to go to smile.amazon.com every time. If you happen to go to just amazon.com your purchase won’t count. There are specific directions if you use their app as well. In my experience though, once you have it set up, you can honestly forget about it as the donations go to the charity you selected because Amazon does it automatically.

Do You Use AmazonSmile?

Here at The Orange Effect Foundation, we have used AmazonSmile for a few years now and every quarter we get a deposit from Amazon that helps cover the cost of at least one speech therapy session. So we are not getting rich, but it is making a difference. Especially for doing no work on our end, other than asking folks like you to sign up for the program.

You can find the EASY directions for signing up here. https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/community/how-to-sign-up-for-amazonsmile

We would love it if you select The Orange Effect Foundation as your charity of choice, but foremost we hope that every single Amazon account holder starts using Smile, no matter what charity you select.
