A Focus On Parents of Special Needs Children

November 17, 2022 By Pam Pulizzi

https://caregiverdoc.com/watch/

I recently had an “I can’t believe I didn’t think of that” moment.

Okay, so I actually have many of those, but this one in particular almost concerned me. I got so focused on one aspect of the care of special needs children I completely forgot about the most important people in the scenario.  The PARENTS!

I owe a thank you to my friend Sydni Craig Hart who brought this to my attention.

Sydni introduced me to Unseen.  An amazing film sharing some shocking and valuable information on how we are failing caregivers and why it matters.

The next virtual showing is November 18-30 in honor of Family Caregivers Month.  Tickets are $10. Please consider watching. Please consider having your children watch as well so they are aware of the needs of these families.

The above link also includes some great tools and resources to share with families you know who are in need of a village to help them on their journey.

From their website:

Many parent caregivers for children or adults who are disabled or medically complex are exhausted and isolated. Their mental and physical struggle is a public health crisis that costs us all. The “Unseen” documentary gives an unfiltered, honest glimpse into their lives to enable a change for millions of caregivers and their families.
