Application Process
How do I apply for a grant?
We accept applications via our online portal.

What is the deadline to apply for a grant?
Applications are accepted at any time. However, deadline dates for quarterly review are February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1. Applications must be submitted online by the deadline date. Applications submitted after a deadline date will be held for consideration in the next grant cycle.
May I apply for more than one child?
YES. You may apply for more than one child but a separate grant application must be submitted for each.
How often may I apply?
You may apply once each calendar year.
When will I find out if I have been awarded a grant?
The board meets quarterly to review grant applications. You will receive notification of their decision within 40 days of the quarterly application deadline date.
If my grant application is denied, may I reapply?
You may apply only once per calendar year. However, you are welcome to reapply if there has been a change in diagnosis.
Who and What We Fund
Who is eligible to receive a grant?
Children and young adults up to age 21 who live in the United States are eligible to receive a grant.
Are grants awarded based on financial need?
YES. Due to the high demand for grants income levels over $100,000 per year will not be considered. However, we do consider extenuating circumstances. We are a funder of last resort.
May I use grant funds for therapy that has already been received, or for assistive technology that has already been purchased?
NO. All grants must be used for future therapy sessions and future technology purchases.
Do you fund speech camp?
YES. We fund one week of speech camp per year.
Do you fund more than one speech therapy session per week?
NO. We fund only one speech therapy session per week.
My therapist is not certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHS). May I still apply for a grant?
NO. You must use an ASHA-certified therapist to be eligible for consideration.
Grant Award Distribution
How are awarded funds paid?
Awarded funds are paid directly to the therapy provider or the device manufacturer upon receipt of invoice. We only pay for therapy that a child attends. We do not pay for missed appointments.
How long do I have to use the grant funds once a grant is awarded?
Grants must be used within 12 months from the date of award notification. All unused funds are forfeited after the 12 month deadline.
Is there a limit to the number of grants a child can receive from the Orange Effect Foundation?
YES. There is a two grant cap on the number of grants an individual may receive.
Are grants renewable?
NO. Grants cannot be renewed. A separate application must be submitted for each grant request.
